Artist Statement

I was born in a country that does not exist any longer(Yugoslavia). My work is a way to cope with this aspect of my own history. Therefore, main reoccurring themes in my work revolve around ideas related to war and to my experience as a refugee.

In my career as a practicing artist I worked with numerous different mediums, pictorial and sculptural but my recent works are two-dimensional animations or sequential drawings. I am interested in this medium because of its ability to combine sound with visual information, its ability to be used in a narrative and the possibilities it offers in mixed media installations. Therefore, many of my recent works involve projections on top of sculptural clay reliefs or paintings and drawings.
